Choekran voor je hulp. Ik heb na uitvoerig lezen gevonden wat ik zocht. Tijdens het lezen van verschillende hadtih en verzen van de Koran online, werd mijn speciale aandacht gewekt door de volgende vertaling van de vers:

67. Zij waarderen Allah niet volgens Zijn Waardigheid. De gehele aarde zal in Zijn greep zijn op de Dag der Opstanding, en de hemelen zullen worden opgerold in Zijn hand. Glorie zij Hem en verheven is Hij boven hetgeen zij met Hem vereenzelvigen. 

Het woord opgerold is wat mij fascineerde. Waarom? Dit las ik onlangs op een wetenschappelijke pagina van wikipedia over de snarentheorie:

Extra dimensies

De wiskundige voorstelling van de snaartheorie maakt een meerdimensionale ruimte nodig. In onze huidige wereld kennen we drie tastbare dimensies. Deze dimensies staan loodrecht op elkaar. In de moderne natuurkunde, in het bijzonder in de relativiteitstheorie, beschouwt men de tijd als de vierde dimensie.

De snaartheorie gaat er van uit dat op zeer kleine schaal de ruimte niet vier-, maar tien-, of zelfs elfdimensionaal is. De zes 'extra' dimensies zijn 'opgerold', en daardoor niet waarneembaar. Omdat we ze ook met onze deeltjesversnellers nog niet gevonden hebben, moeten ze kleiner zijn dan het formaat dat overeenkomt met de energie van deze versnellers, ongeveer 10^-15 meter.
